The Spider-Verse has just introduced the strongest Wall-Crawler of all time by rewriting a classic Web of Spider-Man storyline.
"Spider-Hulk" by Greg Pak, Alan Robinson, and Yen Nitro takes readers across the Multiverse to a world not all that unlike the one they already know. There, Peter Parker is struck with a blast from a Biokinetic Energy Absorber, all during a battle with none other than the Incredible Hulk. Just as longtime fans have seen before, this leads the Wall-Crawler himself to transform into his very own version of the Hulk. Unfortunately, in this world there is no answer to Peter's newest problem, leaving him to begin walking the same lonely highways as Bruce Banner.

Marvel Comics' primary Peter Parker made his debut as the original Spider-Hulk in the pages of 1990's Web of Spider-Man #70 by Gerry Conway, David Michelinie, and Alex Saviuk. Much like the story seen in the pages of Web of Spider-Verse: New Blood #1, the first iteration of this tale came about as a result of Peter's exposure to the very same Biokinetic Energy Absorber during an epic confrontation with the Hulk one issue prior. Of course, this story didn't end with Peter being relegated to a life of utter solitude, but rather his eventual return to normalcy.
Web of Spider-Verse: New Blood is just the latest in a long series of trips through the web-spattered corners of the Multiverse. This time around, it is the Web-Heart leading the charge to find one last champion to stand alongside their fellow Spider-Totems in the face of some yet unseen threat. Among those who have already been chosen are the primary Peter Parker, the cartoonish Spider-Ham, the impossibly lethal Weapon VIII, the cybernetically-enhanced Recluse, and two other heroes who have only been described as "an artist" and "an orphan."

The new Spider-Hulk might be the strongest new Spider-Totem to make their debut in Web of Spider-Verse: New Blood #1, but he is far from the only one of his kind. This landmark issue also marks the debut of a new Miles Morales, one who has taken on his late uncle Aaron Davis' mantle as the Prowler and combined it with his own. In an entirely different corner of the Multiverse, the vampiric Count Parker arises from the shadows to unite with an unexpected romance. And, over the course of just a single page, a lone Spider-Man action figure stands tall against the might of the dreaded Sandman, rounding out the issue's additions to the Spider-Verse.

Spider-Man
Since his first appearance in 1962, Spider-Man has almost always been Marvel Comics' most popular character. Known for his sense of humor and bad luck as well as his selflessness and super-strength, Spider-Man has helmed countless titles over the years, Spider-Man's most prominent comics include The Amazing Spider-Man, Web of Spider-Man, and Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man.
Peter Parker was the original Spider-Man but the Spider-Verse has become an important part of the character's lore in recent years. Multiversal and future Spider-Men include Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, Miguel O'Hara and Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham. This provided the premise for the popular Spider-Verse film trilogy, which makes Miles its primary hero.
Spider-Man is also the basis of several live-action film franchises and numerous animated television series. He is one of the most recognizable characters in the world. While he's changed a lot over the decades, Steve Ditko and Stan Lee gave the world an unforgettable hero when they created Spider-Man.
