Image Comics is about to celebrate a major milestone issue of King Spawn in truly epic fashion.
Per a press release from Image Comics, the upcoming fiftieth issue of King Spawn is set to not just mark a major milestone of its own, but the beginning of an entirely new initiative known as the "50/50/50 Program." Slated to begin with the release of King Spawn #50 (by Todd McFarlane, Rory McConville, Stephen Segovia, and Carlo Barberi) when it goes on sale this October, the 50/50/50 Program will span the three main Spawn Universe titles from Image Comcis, King Spawn, Gunslinger Spawn, and The Scorched, with each series joining in on the action with the relesae of its respective fiftieth issue.

The story slated to be told in King Spawn #50 will take place across two distinct chapters. As per the press release from Image Comics, King Spawn #50 "sets the stage for a crossover event that will unfold across all three landmark issues, as a primordial force returns to target Spawn and forever change one of its core characters." In celebration of the momentous occasion, King Spawn #50 will be released with numerous variant covers, including some exceedingly expensive high-end variants such as a 1-in-1,000 raw pencil sketch version illustrated by McFarlane himself, which is noted as being one of two variants that the legendary creator will never sign again.
"As a young comic book collector, I was always excited to see what the comic book companies had in their plans to help celebrate their big anniversary or event books," McFarlane said of the 50/50/50 Program following its announcement. "So, I've been very fortunate to have been involved in some of those types of books during my career, which makes this 50/50/50 event something we have been thinking about for a long time."

35-Year-Old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classic Just Received Great News
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans have just been given a major update about one of the franchise's upcoming milestone anniversary events.
"It is exciting for me to be able to, in a very short period, celebrate three anniversary books that will all co-mingle their storylines as King Spawn, Gunslinger Spawn, and The Scorched all hit their milestone 50th issues," McFarlane continued. I've long said that fifty issues is a mark I wish more creator-owned books got to, as it helps establish characters in fandom's memories that much easier. In 2021 we officially launched the Spawn Universe and now we get to keep that momentum going with a huge crossover storyline that will affect one of the oldest characters in the Spawn mythology as well as introduce us to a savage villain. I hope you will all come join us for this wild ride." McFarlane went on to thank "all the retailers who have supported us throughout my decades-long career," noting that he hopes "some of the incentives are worthy of your support once again."
King Spawn #50 goes on sale October 22 from Image Comics.
