Paramount+ is doubling down on MobLand, even after months of behind the scenes tension that raised real questions about the show’s future. The crime drama, created by Roman Bennett and Guy Ritchie, has grown into one of the platform’s biggest streaming hits, driven by its focus on fixer Harry Da Souza and a violent turf war between the Harrigan family and the Stevenson gang.
Now, after reports of on-set conflict involving star Tom Hardy, the series appears to be back on track. According to Deadline, Hardy is officially set to return for Season 3. The report states that Hardy recently met with the production team and reached an agreement on how to move forward. Sources say the meeting went well, with executive producer Guy Ritchie playing a key role in smoothing things over.
The controversy had cast a shadow over the show. Reports claimed Hardy clashed with cast and crew during Season 2 production. Some accounts alleged he stayed in his trailer for long stretches and delayed filming for hours. Those claims fueled concern that the series could lose its lead at a critical moment.

Despite that tension, key cast members stood by Hardy. Oscar winner Helen Mirren publicly defended him, calling him “the most amazing actor” and praising both his talent and character. She described him as “a very special person” with “the kindest heart,” signaling strong support from within the production.
Behind the scenes, work on Season 3 is already underway. Scripts are currently being written, though Paramount+ has not yet confirmed a full greenlight or production start date. That leaves some uncertainty, but Hardy’s return removes the biggest obstacle facing the series.
Fans are still waiting for Season 2 to arrive, which is expected before the end of the year. The last chapter saw the Harrigans gain the upper hand over Richie Stevenson after a key betrayal orchestrated by Da Souza. That conflict closed one chapter but left open questions about what comes next.

For Paramount+, the stakes are clear. MobLand has become a major draw in a crowded streaming market. Keeping its lead actor in place signals stability at a time when viewers and investors are watching closely.
