New reports from a Marvel insider points towards a longer future for the Ultimate Universe than some fans have been led to believe.

Per a June 21 Twitter post from fan account Secure in Carapace, the current iteration of the Ultimate Universe likely has a longer lifespan than has been hinted at recently. According to Yo, husband of acclaimed writer and artist Peach Momoko, "No one (other than maybe [Jonathan] Hickman?) really knows what's next. Or even when it is planned to end."

Marvel, DC and More Commit To Neon Ichiban, a Brand New Comics and Manga Digital Platform

Fans have a brand new digital platform for comic books and manga to look forward to, and Neon Ichiban might be what Comixology never was.

This news comes hot on the heels of statements made by writer Zack Davisson, who has served in script adaptation for Momoko's hit Ultimate X-Men series. On June 20, it was reported that Davisson had taken to social media to discuss the future of the Ultimate Universe. "Did a great interview about Ultimate X-Men, and got to express that any of you who are waiting for the comic to be something other than it is--for some Grand Reveal where the "real" X-Men pop up or The Maker twists a magic dial... you will wait forever," Davisson wrote. "The story is all there. Everything is there. We're working on issue #18 now. We have six more issues to go."

Davisson went on to imply that every currently ongoing Ultimate Universe title, including Ultimate X-Men, The Ultimates, Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate Black Panther, and Ultimate Wolverine would be coming to an end after their respective twenty-fourth issues. Although it wasn't clear if these comments were meant to include the still unreleased Ultimate Hawkeye series from writers Taboo, B. Earl, and Deniz Camp and artist Juan Frigeri, Davisson's statements seemed to indicate that it too would suffer from a predetermined two-year run. When asked directly whether Ultimate X-Men would be ending after 24 issues, he replied, "All of the Ultimate Universe stuff will."

A Fan-Favorite Avenger Just Erased the Last Piece of One Villain’s Horrible Legacy

One of the greatest Avengers of all time has just put an all-powerful villain's legacy to rest, and it means everything to an entire dimension.

The Ultimate Universe is currently in the midst of its first major crossover event, which began in the pages of Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #1 by writers Deniz Camp and Cody Ziglar and artist Jonas Scharf. The issue follows Miles Morales as he makes the trek to the reality of Earth-6160 in the hopes of rescuing his baby sister, Billie, who unwittingly activated a device that transported her to the Ultimate Universe. Almost as soon as he arrived, Miles came into contact with both Peter and Richard Parker, not to mention at least one of the Ultimate Universe's deadliest villains. Unfortunately, Miles' search for Billie is only getting started, and he is hardly any closer to finding her now than he was when he started.
