The X-Men fan-favorite character Bishop will be getting an exciting new updated look later this year. Marvel unveiled the character's new design, which will debut in Storm's ongoing solo series.

Bishop's new look is designed by Lucas Werneck, the artist for Marvel Comics' currently running Storm series. Along with the teaser of Bishop's new costume, Marvel also shared cover art for Storm #11, which will go on sale August 6. The issue comes with a main cover art by Mateus Manhanini and a variant by Junggeun Yoon. Bishop's sleek new look debuts as part of Storm's Thunder War arc, which kicks off this July in issue #10.

Spider-Gwen is getting a new costume and new powers in a brand new series, with Marvel Comics sharing cover art and plot details.

Bishop Joins Storm in a Fight for the Universe

Marvel has already begun teasing the Thunder War event as a "full-circle" moment for Storm. Bishop will guest-star in the action, and the latest tease of his costume is the first look at what the gunslinging mutant will look like as he tries to help Storm prevent the end of the universe.

Hadad is here to end our universe. Eternity, sensing the coming cataclysm, abandons the universe to seek the help of The One Above All – the only entity benevolent and powerful enough to defeat Hadad – the first storm god. With Eternity gone and the powers of the Eternal Storm stripped away, Storm is no longer the most powerful being in the universe. Yet all we hold dear rests on her shoulders. The newest, youngest, mortal storm god (Ororo Munroe) must face the oldest and most powerful storm god (Hadad)...alone...for the fate of the universe. Our universe is doomed.

Storm's latest solo series made its debut in October 2024, with the electrifying mutant on top of the world as a member of both the X-Men and the Avengers. As one of the most prominent and respected mutants in the Marvel Universe, Storm faces a lot of pressure in the series, and her mutant allies often come and assist her. Previous comics have seen her working with the X-Factor's Frenzy, the Uncanny X-Men, and other mutant icons to keep the world safe, but her team-up with Bishop amps up the danger to a whole new level.

Storm writer Murewa Ayodele also revealed:

"There are iconic storylines in comic book history that we reference and revere. DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, PLANET HULK, BORN AGAIN, KRAVEN'S LAST HUNT, and others. These stories are rare gems because they reshape how we relate to the medium as readers and creators. When we read these expansive storylines, we all often catch ourselves thinking the same thing: 'I wonder what it was like reading this when it was coming out monthly.' You don't have to wonder any longer. Starting in July 2025, one such storyline unfolds in the pages of the ongoing STORM series -- beginning with issue #10 and ending with issue #12. THUNDER WAR firmly roots Ororo Munroe in all the strengths and flaws that made her the character she is today and pits her against the entire pantheon of thunder gods in the Marvel Universe to see which Storm will rise from the ashes -- a benevolent goddess, a tyrannical godslayer, or one slain beneath the fury of immortals."

One of the most beloved artists in the entire comic book industry gives Marvel Studios a breakdown of why they're letting creators down.

This month's issue, Storm #8, came in the aftermath of the X-Manhunt, with Storm facing an investigation from the F.B.I. for assisting Charles Xavier. As that storyline continues to unfold over the next few months, Storm's troubles are only going to worsen as the Thunder Gods get even more restless. When Thunder War kicks off in issue #10, the series will begin tying up loose ends -- with the F.B.I. discovering the mutant child from the Oklahoma Incident and Storm's safe house seen in the series' debut issue.

With the F.B.I. closing in on Storm and Hadad causing even more chaos, Storm has a lot on her plate. Thankfully, Bishop will be there to assist her in Werneck's newly designed costume. Whether the two mutants will be strong enough to save the day and prevent Hadad from destroying the universe remains to be seen.

Storm #11 goes on sale Aug. 6 from Marvel Comics.
