Acceptably corny. Grade: C
Story two: Beast and Kitty Pryde try to go to the opera but the doorman won’t let them in because Beast is blue and hairy. A thief steals from a rich concertgoer, Hank intervenes, but then decides he’d rather go to see a Marx Brothers movie.
Unacceptably corny. Grade: D. Why? Because Beast is a freakin’ Avenger. Everyone knows who he is at this point, the Marvel Universe is FULL of people who look weird—especially in New York city. This kind of thing simply wouldn’t be happening in this celebrity bootlicking, “I’m afraid to offend anyone or I’ll be sued” world.
