YouTube’s New Peacock Deal Could Change the Streaming Landscape

Comcast’s NBCUniversal is cutting a new deal with YouTube that could shake up streaming even more, and that’s not great news for the old guard. CNBC reports that Peacock content will be available to YouTube Premium subscribers starting in early 2027. The package is broad. It includes NBC Sports, Bravo favorites like The Real Housewives franchise, Peacock originals like Twisted Metal, and Universal movies such as Obsession and, later, The Odyssey. Peacock also carries network staples like The Office, 30 Rock, and Parks and Recreation, which have long been reliable draws for streaming audiences. That matters because sitcoms still pull weight in the streaming wars. If YouTube Premium subscribers can soon get access to some of the best-known comedy titles tied to Peacock, it could make the Peacock app feel a lot less necessary for some viewers. YouTube Premium currently runs from $8.99 to $15.99 a month, depending on the plan.
