Marvel is about to introduce a brand-new Battleworld symbiote, and it could change Venom's life forever.

Per a press release from Marvel Comics, a whole new Venom is about to make its way into the center of the Marvel Universe thanks to the next Battleworld series. The series' third issue will mark the debut of a new Venom, who will be returning shortly after in the pages of Venom #252. Readers can get their first look at the main and variant covers for Battleworld #3 below, as well as design and homage variants calling back to the classic covers of Secret Wars #7 and Amazing Spider-Man #252 that will be available in the form of Venom #252.

The New Symbiote Will Debut in Battleworld Before Appearing in Venom

Written by Christos Gage and illustrated by Marcus To, Battleworld will chart the next of Marvel's Secret Wars as heroes and villains from across the Marvel Universe are brought together by a near all-powerful force to face off against one another as part of an epic conflict they were previously unaware even existed. The first issue of the explosive new limited series is set to arrive on comic book store shelves this September. From a first look at the series fans got when Battleworld was announced, readers already know that the likes of the original Starbrand, the Storm of Marvel's Days of Future Past timeline, Kushala the Spirit Rider, and the dreaded future Hulk known as Maestro will be showing up alongside entirely new versions of characters including the Wasp, Captain Marvel, and Spider-Man.

The official solicit synopsis for Battleworld #1 from Marvel Comics reads, "Slay your enemies, prove your worth and all you desire shall be yours in the world to come! The Battleworld from Secret Wars returns! Heroes from across the Multiverse are thrown together on a patchwork world to engage in their own Secret Wars for the survival of their timelines! Who or what has created this Battleworld, and for what nefarious purpose? Enter Maestro. Is he friend, or foe?"

Writer Christos Gage said of the series following its announcement, "I was a rabid consumer of the original Secret Wars when it came out in 1984, so a chance to revisit the Battleworld 'destroy your enemies' concept was irresistible. Then they offer me Hank Pym, one of my favorite Marvel characters to write, and the amazing Marcus To on art?!" Gage went on to explain that when it was "suggested that the fragments of Battleworld could come from different timelines, I jumped at that, because Marvel has so many awesome ones, from Days of Future Past to 2099."

Battleworld #3 arrives in comic book stores everywhere this November. Venom #252 goes on sale in December.
