Spider-Man's next big crossover with Marvel's premier symbiotes is leading up to his biggest milestone issue yet.
Per a press release from Marvel Comics, fans can finally get their first look at the main covers for the final issues of the upcoming Spider-Man/Venom: Death Spiral event. Slated to begin in February with the release of Amazing Spider-Man/Venom: Death Spiral #1, the event will introduce the Marvel Universe's latest superpowered serial killer — Torment.
Set to play out across five parts in the pages of the opening one-shot, Amazing Spider-Man by Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinness (and Charles Soule and Jesús Saíz for issue #24) and the ongoing Venom series by Al Ewing and Carlos Gómez, Death Spiral will be one of the scariest affairs fans have seen in years. It will also help set the stage for the release of Amazing Spider-Man #1000 near the end of the year.
Readers can check out the main covers for Amazing Spider-Man #23, #24, and #25 (#988, #989, and #990 under Marvel Comics' Legacy numbering system), as well as the main cover art for Venom #255 and the entire Death Spiral checklist in the image gallery down below.
Death Spiral will feature numerous shocking revelations, not the least of which will be Peter Parker discovering Mary Jane Watson's identity as the All-New Venom. While that will certainly give rise to plenty of tension between the two, it will all be overshadowed by the threat of Torment, who is already gearing up to quite possibly be Carnage's match when it comes to being the Marvel Universe's most dreaded serial killer.
Currently, all three leading characters set to take center stage in Death Spiral are reeling from their own issues, with none seeming fit to face off against one another, let alone a new major villain. While Peter Parker has been trying to survive an interstellar conflict he never asked to be a part of, Mary Jane Watson is struggling to maintain her secret identity as Venom. All the while, Carnage is busy plumbing the depths of its current host, Eddie Brock, for any secrets it can use against its enemies in the days to come.
The official solicit synopsis for Amazing Spider-Man: Death Spiral from Marvel Comics reads, "A new super powered serial killer is on the loose and they’re coming for Spidey, Venom and everyone in between. But what terrible secret has CARNAGE learned and what does it have to do with Spider-Man?!"
Death Spiral begins on Feb. 25, 2026 with the release of Amazing Spider-Man/Venom: Death Spiral #1 from Marvel Comics.

Since his first appearance in 1962, Spider-Man has almost always been Marvel Comics' most popular character. Known for his sense of humor and bad luck as well as his selflessness and super-strength, Spider-Man has helmed countless titles over the years, Spider-Man's most prominent comics include The Amazing Spider-Man, Web of Spider-Man, and Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man.
Peter Parker was the original Spider-Man but the Spider-Verse has become an important part of the character's lore in recent years. Multiversal and future Spider-Men include Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, Miguel O'Hara and Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham. This provided the premise for the popular Spider-Verse film trilogy, which makes Miles its primary hero.
Spider-Man is also the basis of several live-action film franchises and numerous animated television series. He is one of the most recognizable characters in the world. While he's changed a lot over the decades, Steve Ditko and Stan Lee gave the world an unforgettable hero when they created Spider-Man.
