The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are about to reach the end of one of their greatest modern sagas, and it is only days away.
The hotly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #12 from IDW Publishing is officially just days away. With the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #12 on October 22, the hit creative team of writer Jason Aaron and artist Juan Ferreyra will be stepping aside to make way for a new story led by writer Gene Luen Yang, who will be joined by fan-favorite artist Kevin Williams II beginning with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #13.

The official solicit synopsis for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #12 from IDW Publishing reads, "After 12 issues of being ripped apart, accused of murder, and tried as villains, the Turtles fight to clear their names and heal their family. Nothing stands between them and freedom — except a threat unlike any they've faced!"
Following Aaron and Ferreyra's exit from the series, Yang and Williams will kick off a harrowing new chapter for the Heroes in a Half Shell in the pages of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #13. Just days ago, IDW Publishing confirmed that the upcoming issue had already sailed past the 100,000 units sold mark. If the incoming creative team weren't exciting enough, readers have already gotten their first glimpse of the next villain to be introduced in the series, Ujigami, who will all but assuredly be posing a whole new kind of problem for the heroes of the Splinter Clan when they arrive.
Back in September, CBR spoke to Yang about what he has in store for the Heroes in a Half Shell, with the hit writer stating simply, "It's amazing just to get to play in this sandbox." Yang continued, "I have childhood memories of watching the old '80s cartoon with my brother and reading the Mirage Studios comics at a friend's house. Then when I was in my 20s, I got my start as a comics self-publisher with a grant from the Xeric Foundation, a non-profit founded by Peter Laird. I owe so much to the Turtles. It's an honor to get to tell their stories."
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #12 goes on sale October 22 from IDW Publishing.
