The following contains major spoilers for "Eddie Parker: Your Friendly Neighborhood Symbiote" from the pages of Venom #252, on sale now from Marvel Comics.
The latest addition to the Marvel Comics Multiverse just introduced a mash-up of two characters who could hardly stand each other at the start.
In a preview of "Eddie Parker: Your Friendly Neighborhood Symbiote" (by Jordan Morris, Jesús Saiz, Jesus Aburtov, and VC's Clayton Cowles, from the pages of Venom #252) from Marvel Comics, readers are introduced to the eponymous paparazzi photographer, who is more than happy to break the law if it means landing a big story or payday. Eddie is also more than happy to put his nose where it doesn't belong, even if that is right into a jar of symbiote ooze.

Eddie Parker is the latest in a long line of variants of both Eddie Brock and Peter Parker to make their debut in the pages of Marvel Comics. That being said, the character is likely the first to serve as a mash-up of both characters, not to mention the first to find his symbiote by stumbling straight into the middle of a Roxxon lab where such specimens are being held.
While "Eddie Parker: Your Friendly Neighborhood Symbiote" introduces readers to a whole new kind of symbiote superhero, the issue's main story sees the Venom of the primary Marvel Universe make a drastic change of their own by stepping into the role of Spider-Man. This comes after months of Peter Parker being nowhere to be seen, all while the likes of Norman Osborn and Ben Reilly attempted to fill in for him for their own ends.
To top things off, Venom's recent shift has been necessitated by Mary Jane Watson's secret identity as Venom being exposed to a whole host of outsiders, ranging from allies like Robbie Robertson to enemies such as Madame Masque. Now, Mary Jane and Venom have to take whatever extra precautions they can to keep their identity safe, though neither is willing to give up being a hero to do so.
The official solicit synopsis for Venom #252 from Marvel Comics reads, "THE RUMORS ARE TRUE! Venom has a brand-new red-and-blue suit - and a brand new name to go with it! How will the people of New York react when they find out that the city's newest Spider-Man is the SYMBIOTE they love to loathe? Luke Cage and Otto Octavius are ready to debate the matter — with their fists! PLUS: A bonus tale of the origin of an even All-NEWER Venom! AND a celebratory flashback story by the team behind the classic AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #252!"
Venom #252 is on sale now from Marvel Comics.
