The end of Peach Momoko's Ultimate X-Men is within sight, and it is heartbreaking to behold for fans of the series.

Per a press release from Marvel Comics, the hit ongoing Ultimate X-Men series from critically acclaimed writer and artist Peach Momoko is officially set to come to an end in just a few short months. The 24th and final issue of Peach Momoko's Ultimate X-Men will be arriving in comic book stores everywhere in February 2026, just ahead of the Ultimate Universe's even bigger finale — Ultimate Endgame. Readers can check out the cover for Ultimate X-Men #24 for themselves down below, along with other newly released Ultimate titles.

Ultimate X-Men #24 Will Mark the Series Finale

The official solicit synopsis for Ultimate X-Men #24 from Marvel Comics reads, "THE FINAL ISSUE! HOPE YOU SURVIVE THE EXPERIENCE! It's time to say goodbye to the Ultimate X-Men! But what does the future hold for our favorite misfit mutants? How will they survive the world war that has broken out? AND WHAT HAPPENED TO ARMOR?"

Peach Momoko's Ultimate X-Men debuted back in March 2024 and immediately won over fans with its captivating visuals and deeply unsettling story. Ultimate X-Men largely revolves around a group of young mutants, including Hisako Ichiki, aka Armor, Mei Igarashi, aka Maystorm, Nico Minoru, aka Grimm, and Kanon Sainouchi, each of whom is either tied to or preyed upon by malevolent forces ranging from the dreaded Shadow King to the ominous cult known as the Children of the Atom. Along the way, each of these heroes has stepped into a role not unlike those longtime fans know them for best, albeit with Peach Momoko's immediately identifiable and infinitely endearing flair.

Ultimate X-Men will be the third ongoing Ultimate title to reach its conclusion after Ultimate Spider-Man in December and Ultimate Black Panther in January. In April, both The Ultimates and Ultimate Wolverine will close out with their respective 24th issues, finishing off sagas years in the making. Head of Marvel Comics and Franchise Dan Buckley said of the overarching Ultimate Universe epic, "You'll be able to take this journey—the beginning, middle, and end—and digest it for years to come and pass it on to others."

The Ultimates writer Deniz Camp, who took over as architect of the current Ultimate Universe following the exit of Jonathan Hickman, stated back when the end of the line was announced during New York Comic Con, "It's hard to talk about it without getting emotional. It really is the culmination of everything Jonathan began. Everything from my book and everyone else's book are all converging. It's gonna be definitive, it's going to be big. It's going to be emotional, there's going to be death... It's just wild."

Ultimate X-Men #24 goes on sale in February 2026 from Marvel Comics.
