A New Era of Daredevil Storytelling Just Confirmed Its Creative Team

Daredevil is set to kick off a whole new explosive story in 2026, and he's got an incredible creative team leading the way.

Per a press release from Marvel Comics, next March will see the beginning of a brand-new Daredevil ongoing series from one of the hottest creative teams in years. Writer Stephanie Phillips and artist Lee Garbett have teamed up to bring the Man Without Fear back into action, along with a whole host of fan-favorite Marvel heroes and villains, all while introducing the ominous and enigmatic Omen. To top it all off, the first issue of Daredevil will be available in over a dozen different variant covers, which readers can hope to snag thanks to Marvel Comics' next blind bag release.

The official solicit synopsis for Daredevil #1 from Marvel Comics reads, "Hell's Kitchen is full of secrets – but no secret stays buried for long! As a fearsome new super villain named OMEN has targeted MATT MURDOCK, it will be his alter-ego DAREDEVIL who takes the hits! BUT BEWARE! This mysterious new player isn't all that they appear – a secret Daredevil will have to learn quickly as he scrambles to settle into a life and status-quo we've NEVER SEEN HIM IN BEFORE!"

Daredevil #1 is billed as a perfect jumping-on point for new readers, as well as a story strong enough to keep longtime fans more than entertained throughout its run. Not only will Matt Murdock be returning to action as Daredevil, but he is also going back to school for the first time in years, albeit not in the way many may have expected. This time, Matt Murdock will be playing the role of a professor, though his tenure might not last if his next foe has anything to say about it.

Writer Stephanie Phillips said of the series, "I'm taking on one of my favorite characters with one of my favorite artists, and together we’re exploring Daredevil's noir sensibilities.
