The world of Spawn is about to crash into the pages of Rogue Sun for the next part of the Image Comics crossover that began more than two years ago.

Courtesy of a press release from Image Comics, fans can catch an early sneak peek at everything to come when Sir John of York, the Medieval Spawn himself, comes face-to-face with Caleb Hawthorne, better known as the Knight Sun. The landmark issue, written by Ryan Parrott and Nick Cotton and featuring art by Abel, is set to arrive in comic book stores everywhere on October 15, and will be available in a trio of covers from artists Stefano Simeone and Abel. Fans can check out the various covers and interior preview pages for themselves in the gallery down below.

The official solicit synopsis for Rogue Sun #30 from Image Comics reads, "ENTER: SPAWN! The year is 1383*, and Sir John of York — the MEDIEVAL SPAWN — is searching for the terrifying creature known as The Withered. But a young knight and his squire are also on the hunt — and Caleb Hawthorne, the KNIGHT SUN, won't give up his target without a fight. Don't miss this historic collision between two of Image's hottest heroes!"

Rogue Sun writer Ryan Parrott said of the upcoming crossover issue, "When I first created Knight Sun, a medieval legacy version of Rogue Sun, I'd be lying if a part of me wasn't secretly hoping that, one day, just maybe they might encounter Medieval Spawn." Parrott continued, "I knew it was probably impossible, but... here we are. Todd [McFarlane], Thomas [Healy], and everyone at Todd McFarlane Productions have been so generous, it really was an absolute dream to bring this crossover to life."

Image Comics' Medieval Spawn first crossed over with the characters of the Massive-Verse back in the pages of Supermassive 2023 #1 (by Kyle Higgins, Ryan Parrott, Melissa Flores, Mat Groom, Daniele Di Nicuolo, Walter Baiamonte, and Becca Carey). Supermassive 2023 #1 introduced readers to Thomasin, a powerful sorcerer who wielded the mantle of Inferno Girl Red back in the Medieval era, who is forced to battle against the Rogue Sun of the same time period in her quest for the Holy Grail.

Tragically, Thomasin's mission ended in her own untimely demise, seemingly leaving her to be forgotten in the annals of time itself. At least, that was until Sir John of York arrived to give her a proper burial. While the story in question made it perfectly evident that Thomasin and Sir John were friends in some capacity, the exact nature of that relationship has yet to be fully revealed in the pages of any Image Comics title.

Rogue Sun #30 goes on sale October 15 from Image Comics.
