Superman fans just got a new episode of the hit animated spinoff series many of them didn't even know exists.
A brand-new episode of the fan-favorite Krypto Saves the Day! series of animated shorts has officially made its way online courtesy of the official DC Kids YouTube channel just in time for the holiday season. Titled "Package Pandemonium," this latest short sees Krypto harass a mail carrier simply trying to drop off an important package ahead of the holidays, much to the chagrin of everyone else in town. Readers can see the short for themselves down below.
"Package Pandemonium" marks the third entry in the Krypto Saves the Day! series of shorts, which were released shortly after the premiere of Superman starring David Corenswet. Fortunately for DCU fans worried about what implications they might have, DC Studios co-head and Superman writer-director James Gunn previously assured audiences that Krypto Saves the Day! is not DCU canon.
First seen in Otto Binder and Curt Swan's opening story from 1955's Adventure Comics #150, "Superboy: The Super-Dog from Krypton!," Krypto has long been a beloved piece of the wider Superman mythos. Sent from Krypton out into the cosmos as part of an early experiment conducted by Superman's father, Jor-El, the classic Krypto made his way to Earth much like the Man of Steel and quickly became a part of the family.
In the years since, Krypto has been reimagined dozens of times across various media, and has even become something of a pop culture icon in his own right. Perhaps one of Krytpo's greatest claims to fame is his role on the Legion of Super-Pets, which is one of the most suprising inventions of the Silver Age of comics to still be a part of the world of DC Comics today.
In the past few months, Krypto has been enjoying the renewed popularity that comes along with having a leading role in Superman. The film introduced a scruffy, scraggly iteration of Krypto who is just as destructive and rambunctious as he is powerful. Rather than being Superman's pet, however, this Krypto belongs to Kara Zor-El, better known as Supergirl. As such, Krypto is expected to play a major role in Supergirl starring Milly Alcock when it arrives in theaters next year.
What To Expect From The DC Universe's Supergirl

Supergirl will also feature appearances from David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham as Supergirl's parents, Zor-El and Alura In-Ze.
To round things out and add an extra explosive name to the list of characters involved, Jason Momoa is expected to make a cameo appearance in Supergirl as none other than the Main Man himself — Lobo. Back in March, Momoa opened up about his longtime desire to portray Lobo on the silver screen, stating "I just htink I'm the right person to play the role... If we're going to typecast me in anything, let's put me in Lobo."
"Package Pandemonium" is currently available to watch on the official DC Kids YouTube Channel.
