DC Vertigo is set to kick off 2026 with a whole host of new titles and the return of one of the best sci-fi comics of all time.

In a press release from DC Vertigo, the fan-favorite line is set to return this coming February with three brand-new series and the return of a beloved title that is set to shake things up in a major way. The return of DC Vertigo begins on February 4 with the release of The Nice House by the Sea #7 by writer James Tynion IV and artist Álvaro Martínez Bueno, followed by the very first issues of Bleeding Hearts, End of Life, and The Peril of the Brutal Dark: An Ezra Cain Mystery. Vintage Comic Sold at Auction is Now the Most Expensive Book of All Time

A new record has been set for the most expensive comic book of all time, and the story behind it is even more astonishing than its price tag.

The hit follow-up to 2021's The Nice House by the Lake, Tynion and Bueno's The Nice House by the Sea brings readers back to one of the most horrifying visions of the apocalypse of all time. The Nice House by the Sea #7 will bring things full circle as the residents of the Sea House are given one last chance for survival. Unfortunately, it entails cutting down the lovable cast of losers from The Nice House by the Lake, one of whom has already decided to join their cause.

Written by Deniz Camp and illustrated by Stipan Morian, Bleeding Hearts will offer readers a whole new kind of zombie story set well after the fall of humanity. The series follows Mouse‑Pokes‑Golf‑Ball‑Through‑Hole‑In‑Head, or more simply "Poke," a beloved member of the zombie community whose decaying heart suddenly begins beating once more, kicking off an evolution that neither the living nor undead ever saw coming. Bleeding Hearts #1 goes on sale February 11.

The X-Men Unite for a Bold New Era, And We Have the First Look

The next chapter in X-Men history is shaping up to be the best they have had in years, and all because they are finally standing united.

Set to arrive in stores on February 18, End of Life #1 by writer Kyle Starks and artist Steve Pugh will introduce readers to professional hitman Eddie Stallion, whose latest job went sideways and left him with a high price on his head and only the small midwestern town of Pluto to turn to for safe haven. Reunited with his estranged father and childhood crush, Eddie's best attempts to lie low are met with bloodthirsty assassins and local crime lords, each of whom poses a serious problem for the End of Life's unlikely antihero.

The last of the three new series set to be released by DC Vertigo in February, The Peril of the Brutal Dark: An Ezra Cain Mystery by writer Chris Condon and artist Jacob Phillips will bring readers back to 1941 for an adventure unlike any they could have expected. The official solicit synopsis for the series' first issue reads, "New York City, 1941. Ezra Cain is a private investigator with a reputation for taking it on the chin if it means solving a case. But it’s his former life as an archaeology student that makes him the only man to track down an artifact that’s gone missing from the Museum of Natural History…an ancient anvil said to hold the power of the Greek god Hephaestus. If someone could harness that power, they could bend nations to their will."
