One of the most haunting locations in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe is finally back in the pages of Marvel Comics.

In a preview of Wiccan: Witches' Road #1 (by Wyatt Kennedy, Andy Pereira, Bryan Valenza, and VC's Ariana Maher), readers watch as William Kaplan and Teddy Altman, better known as Wiccan and Hulkling, crash down to Earth from their former home among the stars. Or rather, as they crash down to somewhere that resembles Earth, though appearances are almost always deceiving along the Witches' Road.

First seen in the pages of 2016's Scarlet Witch #3 by James Robinson, Steve Dillon, and Chris Visions, the Witches' Road is a mystical dimension unto itself that has long served as the ethereal home to the Goddess of Witchcraft herself. Accessible only to those with specific magical abilities and those they summon along with them, the Witches' Road is both a pathway to various points in time and to all manner of previously unseen horrors alike.

The Witches' Road came into greater prominence than ever thanks to the release of 2024's Agatha All Along. The follow-up to WandaVision saw Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Harkness assemble a ragtag coven to walk the Witches' Road alongside her, all in the hopes of solving the worst of her problems as a reward for surviving the experience.

While the Witches' Road has served as a focal point for a handful of stories, Wiccan: Witches' Road could very well be where it shines the brightest. Currently, Wiccan and Hulkling are reeling from the aftermath of Marvel Comics' recently concluded Imperial event, which followed the latest massive interstellar conflict to hit the Marvel Universe and redefined the cosmic superpowers that exist within it, ranging from the Kree-Skrull Alliance to the Spartax Empire to the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda.

One of the biggest shakeups from Imperial was the loss of the Kree-Skrull Alliance that Hulkling used to reign over as Emperor Dorrek VIII. Now that the Kree-Skrull Alliance has been dissolved, there is no telling how much damage will be done in the conflicts that are sure to arise because of it. To make matters worse, Hulkling no longer has any hope of reforging the Alliance or even fighting for what it used to stand for, at least not now that there are far greater cosmic empires being forged in the wake of its fall.

Wiccan: Witches' Road #1 is on sale now from Marvel Comics.
