For decades, outside of the occasional one-off character, Archie Comics tended to have the same basic cast of characters in every story. When a new character joined the group, like Chuck Clayton, it was a major deal. In recent years, though, Archie has been trying to come up with some more additions to the world of Riverdale, and that continues this Summer with a brand-new character debuting in a one-shot adventure, Archie American All-Stars #1!

CBR has the exclusive reveal of the Dan Parent cover for the issue, the solicitation for the issue (written by Tania del Rio and drawn by Parent), and the Parent designs for the brand-new character, Eternity Fields, a soccer player coming to the Archie Universe just in time for the United States to host the World Cup this summer!

What is the solicitation for the historic Archie issue?

In an exclusive statement to CBR about the new character (note Dan Parent's development art above), Tania del Rio noted, "It’s an honor to introduce Eternity Fields to the world of Archie and friends! Her biggest goal, besides becoming a pro soccer player, is to share her favorite sport with as many girls as possible. She loves teaching about the sport and refuses to let any distractions—especially boys—get in her way! Reggie makes it his mission to defeat the girls’ team at the All-Star game and he has some tricks up his sleeve. But with Eternity on the girls’ roster, it will be a tough and entertaining fight!"

Archie Comics Editor-in-Chief Mike Pellerito added, "It's been a while since we've expanded the Archie universe and we were looking for a good opportunity and a good story to do so. Summer stories are always huge for us and with the 2026 FIFA World Cup happening, it seemed like the perfect moment to match a great event with the debut of Eternity Fields, while the world has summer soccer fever. As usual, Dan Parent and Tania del Rio have delivered a wonderful new character to the pages of Archie."

Archie's American All-Stars #1 is due out on June 10th.
