Who are the Vindicators?

Rick and Morty meet the Vindicators The Vindicators come together

The Vindicators were an Avengers-like superhero team that was introduced in the third season of Rick and Morty, "Vindicators 3: The Return of Worldender." Rick had teamed up with them in the past, and now they needed his help against the Worldender.

Rick, though, quickly turned the heroes against each other in a sort of Saw-like series of traps, and they slowly killed each other, showing that they were never really the altruistic heroes that they pretended to be. A few of them survived the killings, though, so presumably those are the members who will be joining Morty in hunting down Rick (and maybe there will be new members, as well).

The team received its own special online prequel, as well as a comic book one-shot. Here, they appear to be re-named the Vind-RICK-atators, so it is unclear if there will be more characters on the team who have a grudge against Rick.
