The following contains major spoilers for "The Cosmic Kiss Caper!" from Batman/Deadpool #1, on sale now from DC and Marvel Comics.

One of the most critically acclaimed comic book creators of all time has just unveiled the most powerful weapon in at least two Multiverses.

After a horrifying confrontation with the dreaded Cassandra Nova, Batman and Deadpool find themselves staring down an entirely different kind of threat in the form of the Cosmic Keyboard. As explained in "The Cosmic Kiss Caper!" (by Grant Morrison, Dan Mora, Alejandro Sánchez, and Todd Klein) from Batman/Deadpool #1, the Cosmic Keyboard is capable of rewriting reality itself. And, while Cassandra Nova is quick to lay claim to it as her own, the story's mildly enigmatic writer is even quicker to ensure she never does.

Although the mysterious writer at the center of "The Cosmic Kiss Caper!" goes unnamed, they are clearly a stand-in for the story's actual scribe — Grant Morrison. One of the most critically acclaimed creators in the realm of comics, Morrison has been behind stories ranging from the most iconic volumes of Animal Man and Doom Patrol to more traditional, less overtly mind-bending fare such as Batman R.I.P. and All-Star Superman. Morrison was also responsible for creating The Invisibles, which is widely considered one of the most influential indie comics of the '90s.

Batman/Deadpool follows up on the other most recent Marvel and DC Comics crossover title, which just so happened to be released in the form of Deadpool/Batman back in September. The official solicit synopsis for Batman/Deadpool #1 from DC and Marvel Comics reads, "The Dark Knight and the Merc with a Mouth team up for an adventure so mind-bending you'll think you’re in a dream! Brought to you by legendary creators Grant Morrison and Dan Mora!"
