Ben 10 is Cartoon Network’s quintessential action-centric animated series. It revolved around Ben Tennyson, a young boy who possesses a device known as the Omnitrix. With this extraterrestrial device, he can transform into ten different kinds of aliens with a unique set of powers, which he uses to defend Earth from evil aliens. Running in various forms from 2005 to 2021, it amassed a huge 393 episodes. However, while the show has been off the air for a few years, it hasn’t been forgotten. Ben 10 is back in comic book form with the help of the show’s creators.

Dynamite Entertainment, Cartoon Network, and Man of Action have joined forces for the comic. However, instead of being a continuation of the Ben 10 animated series, it will be a reimagining, with familiar and unfamiliar elements that will keep longtime fans guessing and appeal to new readers.

The new Ben 10 comic will be written by Man of Action, the writing collective that created the animated series. Each member will take turns writing the Ben 10 (2026 series), kind of like they would in a television writers’ room, with Joe Casey writing the first three issues. With Man of Action on board for the series, the comic should feel familiar to fans, but also fresh and exciting.

Worried that television writers won’t be able to translate their ideas to comics? You don’t have to be. Man of Action consists of Duncan Rouleau, Steven T. Seagle, Joe Kelly, and Joe Casey, who have comic book cred before creating Ben 10. They’ve all worked for Marvel and DC Comics, as well as several of their own creator-owned properties. As a result, Ben 10 (2026 series) will feel like a proper comic instead of a TV writer using comics as a backdoor medium.

Artist Robert Carey has worked on numerous comic book titles. These include The Outsiders (2023 series) for DC Comics, Power Rangers: Aftershock for Boom Studios, and James Bond 007 for Dynamite Entertainment. Ben 10 fans will be happy to know that Carey is a fan of the series, with Wildmutt being his favourite character.

Ben 10 (2026 series) joins a list of modern comic book reimaginings over the past few years. It has been led by the Absolute Universe, offering new takes on DC Comics’ classic characters, and the Energon Universe, which has created a shared world for Transformers, G.I. Joe, and other Hasbro properties. These have been successful because they’ve offered a little bit of familiarity, but are willing to try big new ideas, while also telling great stories.

Dynamite Entertainment will also release Ben 10 (2026 series) #1 as a blind bag. These editions of the comic come sealed and can contain exclusive covers. Think of it a bit like opening up a pack of trading cards, where you might get something common or perhaps something rare.

Ben 10 (2026 series) #1 is available at all good comic book shops, online retailers, and digitally on 6th May, 2026.
