Rumor mills often run rampant when comic book movies are announced, with hopeful fans casting their own ideas or headcanons onto the internet when dreaming of what a superhero-inspired page-to-screen adaptation could include. An Avengers: Secret Wars rumor about Daredevil is so ridiculous, that one Marvel star openly denied it.

Marvel Studios rumor-perpetuating X (formerly Twitter) account Cosmic Marvel alleges that Daredevil star Charlie Cox was pressed about his unconfirmed appearance in Avengers: Secret Wars. The account claims that during an interview with ComicBook.com, that the Daredevil actor was asked if he'd be teaming up with Ben Affleck, who was Marvel's first on-screen Daredevil in the 2003 movie. Per the social media account's post, Cox said that “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

Cox, Affleck, or Daredevil as a character appearing in Avengers: Secret Wars is purely speculation at the moment, basically amounting to online chatter that has little foundation or fact to base itself on. Marvel's hasty approach to multiversal concepts has given way to more interdimensional theories breaking across the internet, yet it's far too early and Cosmic Marvel's post should be written off as a rumor for the time being. It still remains unknown if Cox or even Affleck will tap into Avengers: Doomsday, though it's most likely that Cox's Daredevil will significantly influence Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Cox's MCU future may be up for speculation when attempting to predict where Daredevil may be seen next, though it's guaranteed that he'll be returning for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Marvel's The Defenders and Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again, which leaves Marvel fans curious whether there's a future Jessica Jones or The Defenders projects yet to be announced. Ritter remains guilty of leaking the Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 trailer that premiered at New York Comic Con, which offered a first glimpse of what the sophomore season could dive into.

Daredevil: Born Again writer Jesse Wigutow teased IGN about what the second season may hold for the Devil of Hell's Kitchen. "I obviously can't say very much," Wigutow told IGN of Daredevil: Born Again's upcoming second run, "but it's a very big muscular season that revolves around Fisk in office as mayor. There's a lot of political intrigue and palace intrigue What I think is really awesome about the season is that ultimately... [we have] all these moving pieces and this big kind of canvas of New York City, but at the end of the day, it's about these two characters that you care about most, almost the two face-to-face in a playground," he continued. "That's the idea. They hate each other, but they need each other. And how do they get through that? That's ultimately what it all comes down to. And I think we did a really fun job of delivering that."

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 hits Disney+ on March 4, 2026.
