Evermind is a Kickstarter worth backing because it unites two powerhouse talents: actor Daniel Wu and legendary comic artist Sean Chen. This sci-fi graphic novel was mentioned on our very own round-up years ago, and it has withstood the test of time. The story explores the thrilling and dangerous intersection between humanity and technology, following scientist Lucas Zhang as his mind-controlled robotics breakthrough spirals beyond his control.
With Chen’s dynamic, cinematic art and Wu’s storytelling instincts shaped by his storied film career, Evermind promises to blend heart, action, and philosophical depth. It’s a story about innovation, responsibility, and identity told through an Asian American lens rarely seen in Western comics.

A One-Man-thology of Dean Haspiel Deep Cuts
Dean Haspiel’s Antimatter is a Kickstarter worth backing because it embodies the spirit of true creator-owned comics. Bold, personal, and unapologetically original. Known for The Red Hook and Billy Dogma, Haspiel brings his dynamic blend of superhero myth, emotional honesty, and satirical edge to this one-man anthology, inspired by the likes of Eightball and Optic Nerve. The debut story, Covid Cop Insurrection, plunges readers into a wild, thought-provoking world where heroism collides with humanity’s last stand, while other tales spotlight fan-favorite characters and new creations alike.
With striking art, sharp storytelling, and a passion for independent expression, Antimatter shows Haspiel’s mastery of the medium. Its amazing, as far as indie projects go, this is one to look forward to.

Help us make oversized editions of Chapter 6 of the Reuben award-winning series – BARBAROUS!
I had never heard of Barbarous before, but I’m really glad I found it. The story follows Chiaki Mori, a wizard school dropout who was once the perfect academic. Now, she’s working the only job she can get, assistant to a man named Leeds, a literal monster and the superintendent of an apartment building.
One look at the art was enough to hook me; it’s stunning, able to convey so much with so little. Hirsch and Ota’s use of color completely draws me in, and the romance is both captivating and intimate. I can’t help but want more, for that alone, I can’t recommend this series more.
