It goes without saying that in recent years Marvel has been to address the problematic aspects of Iron Fist, a character steeped in the tropes of the white savior and cultural appropriation. These attempts include having Lin Lie, a superhero known as Swordmaster, take over the mantle and the original Danny Rand take on a new mission in the recent Undead Iron Fist miniseries. Today the publisher announced Deadly Hands of K’un Lun, a five-issue miniseries launching in February from writer Written by Yifan Jiang (Eternals: 500-Year War) and artist Paco Medina (Venom, Spider-Boy) marks the long-awaited next chapter in Lin Lie’s journey as the new Iron Fist.
Featuring a cover drawn by Leinil Francis Yu, the official press release from Marvel also teased that the miniseries will reveal Danny Rand’s new role.
Deadly Hands of K’un Lun will be available in comic shops on Wednesday, February 18, 2025.
As a major turning point in Lin Lie’s heroic saga, DEADLY HANDS OF K’UN-LUN is the perfect jumping on point for newcomers to the breakout character!
