What Can Fans Expect From the Dark Souls Spin-Off?

As per the press release, Dark Souls: Mother of Mourning will follow an order of knights with a familiar task for fans of the game that will take readers across the dark and gothic maps and landscapes that helped make the Dark Souls universe such a hit with fans:

Hope is a fleeting feeling for the Knights of Mourning. But the knightly order is willing to bet everything on their last chance of salvation.

In search of a hero to rekindle the flame, these knights turn to the Mother of Lillies, a soulless mummified saint with legends about her ability to restore balance to the world.

The knights believe that her lost soul will resurrect her and bring them their soughtafter champion to guide them to solace. But madness looms in every knight’s mind and this long-awaited goal might not be what it once seemed…

Dark Souls: Mother of Mourning is an exciting, all-new grimdark tale that looks to perfectly capture the decaying world as seen in FromSoftware's celebrated game series, making this untold chapter in the fire-linking storyline a must-read for fans of the series.

Dark Souls fans will quickly be brought back into familiar territory thanks to Mann and House, who continue expanding the massive mythology of the Dark Souls universe after their successful The Willow King series. That comic followed a failed king's servant as he gathered a motley crew of warriors together for a mission to link the fire once again. Of course, the mysterious Mother of Lillies in Mother of Mourning adds a much-welcome horror element to the comic series that could tease dark motives behind the Order's seemingly altruistic mission.

Dark Souls: Mother of Mourning will hit comic shelves on December 3rd, 20235 and be available on Forbidden Planet in the UK and Europe.
