Daken gets to take over his daddy’s series. Thus far, Daken has been basically portrayed as a bitchy little bitch who wants to kill his daddy for reasons that have never really made much sense. This theme persists in this story, where Daken sleeps with a woman who says, “I can’t believe I just slept with Wolverine!” and it makes Daken angry. Very silly. He’s portraying Wolverine. Why would she not think he was Wolverine?
It looks like once he gets a title to himself, he emerges with a personality–because now he’s a Machiavellian schemer (hence the story title, “The Prince.”).

Anyway, much of the story establishes that he can use his pheromone powers to make people crazy. He starts with some of his teammates, making Bullseye and Venom look like idiots in front of their boss, Norman Osborn.

Lots of petty infighting that, frankly, should be fun to read but…Comes off tiresome.

But then it’s on to the Fantastic Four, who he actually tricks into thinking he’s a good guy working to undermine Osborn.

He’s downright flirtatious when he uses his pheremones.

Daken is in fact trying to undermine Osborn, but his main goal is to pit the FF against his boss, which he does successfully. The problem is that, other than to foment anarchy for its own sake, it’s not clear why he’s doing any of this. As a reader, I’m left feeling like I just read three pointless issues. Worse, this big “war” between Osborn and the FF never goes anywhere in the future.
