Professional wrestling is the closest thing to real-life superheroes. It features battles of good vs evil, highlighting incredible feats of strength and athleticism. So it was only natural that they would collide eventually. DC Comics and All Elite Wrestling (AEW) have opened the forbidden door for a comic book crossover to be published in 2026.

Written by Steve Orlando (Wonder Woman, Midnighter) and art by Travis Mercer (Batman/Superman: World’s Finest), this comic book crossover, titled DC x AEW, will see heroes and wrestlers tag-team for the common good.

Keep reading to find out more about this comic book crossover, including which wrestlers and heroes are featured, where to find the comics, and the broader partnership between DC Comics and AEW.

Updating…

This guide will evolve as more details are revealed. As a result, it will incrementally updated when more is known.

What is DC x AEW about?

Story details are light at the moment. However, what is known is that DC heroes and AEW wrestlers will need to team-up for the greater good. I’ll update this section when the solicitations are released.

Who will be in DC x AEW?

Similar to the AEW roster, DC x AEW will feature a large cast of heroes and wrestlers.

On the AEW side, Mercedes Moné, Will Ospreay, Darby Allin, Jon Moxley, Swerve Strickland, “Hangman” Adam Page, “Timeless” Toni Storm, Willow Nightingale, Orange Cassidy, and Kenny Omega will feature in the comic.

As for DC heroes, readers will see Aquaman, Batman, Nightwing, Green Lanterns Guy Gardner and John Stewart, Hawkgirl, Zatanna, Wonder Woman, and Harley Quinn in the mix.

Each hero and wrestler will have a team-up. Think of it as a temporary tag-team partner for a common good. In crossovers of this kind, the creators choose a pairing that either emphasises the character’s similarities or differences, which helps drive the story forward. At the AEW panel at New York Comic-Con 2025, some of those pairings were revealed. Find out about those here if you don’t mind mild spoilers.

Will other heroes and wrestlers also appear? We’ll have to wait and find out.

Neither DC Comics or AEW have announced when DC x AEW #1-2 will be published. It’s likely it will be in early 2026 but I will update this guide when more details are known.

Where to find/buy DC x AEW

DC x AEW can be found at all good comic book shops, online retailers, eBay, and through digital comics retailers (Amazon/Kindle, Neon Ichiban, and GlobalComix). Additionally, the comics can be purchased through AEW at events and on ShopAEW.com throughout 2026.

Comic book shops have a system called a pull list that allows you to preorder comic books. Learn more about pull lists and how to preorder comics so you don’t miss out.

A wider partnership

TThe partnership between DC Comics and AEW doesn’t end with a few comics. The two companies shared a presence at New York Comic-Con 2025. Writer Steve Orlando and artist Travis Mercer were both present at the AEW panel, revealing more details about the comic and witnessing Darby Allin and Jon Moxley go at it.

But that’s not all. There will be co-promotion of DC Comics’ big comic book event, DC K.O., on AEW broadcasts, digital platforms, and social media. (DC K.O. will also have AEW-centric variant covers.) The promotion will culminate at the Full Gear PPV – held at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday, 22nd November, 2025 – with DC Comics being a presenting sponsor.

What other comics might you like?

Looking for something to read while you wait for DC x AEW? Here are a trio of recommendations.

Do A Powerbomb!
Written and art by Daniel Warren Johnson. Published by Image Comics.

Do A Powerbomb! is a love-letter to professional wrestling through exciting action and plenty of heart. AEW fans will get a kick out of Daniel Warren Johnson’s (who is a big pro wrestling fan) depiction of the in-ring action, showing off big moves that lean more into AEW/NJPW than WWE, with a bit of hardcore wrestling/GCW thrown into the mix as well.

Midnighter is a hard-hitting anti-hero whose computer brain allows him to predict his opponent’s every move. DC x AEW writer Steve Orlando wrote a 12-issue series about the character in 2015-2016, which saw the title character on a mission to recover dangerous biotech weapons that have fallen into the wrong hands. The series is character-driven, with the creators using it as an opportunity to explore different angles of queer male identity.

It might seem odd recommending a Transformers comic to wrestling fans, but hear me out. Daniel Warren Johnson, creator of the previously mentioned Do A Powerbomb! has incorporated wrestling moves into the action sequences of his Transformers comic. You can see Optimus Prime do moves like a Rainmaker Lariat, German Suplex, Burning Hammer, Bicycle Kick, Tombstone Piledriver, and more.

As a Transformers comic, it’s also one that mixes up Transformers concepts just enough to feel fresh, and it has lots of heart.

Transformers (2023 series) is part of the Energon Universe, which also incorporates G.I. Joe and more into the mix. Find out more about the comic and the shared universe in our Energon Universe guide.
