Warner Bros. Pictures is breaking new ground with Dirty Harriet, a gender-swapped reimagining of the 1971 classic Dirty Harry. The reboot will also take the daring step of turning the gritty police procedural into a full-fledged Broadway-style musical, blending crime drama with high-tempo empowerment anthems.
Oscar winner Hillary Swank is in final talks to star as Inspector Harriet Callahan, described as “a tough-as-nails cop who expresses justice through jazz hands and emotional truth.” Producers tout the film as “Les Mis meets Law & Order,” with an original score by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Studio execs believe modern audiences are ready to embrace a Dirty Harry that trades bullets for ballads. “We wanted to honor the spirit of the original while reimagining it for an era that values healing and choreography,” said a Warner representative. “When Harriet sings, ‘Do you feel inclusive, punk?’—you’ll believe it.”
Early test audiences reportedly left humming the finale number, “Feminine Firepower.” Insiders hint that the movie could pave the way for a shared “Musical Cop Universe,” including rumored spin-offs Lethal Waltz and Bad Boys: The Opera.

I'm not as much of a "CoMiCs NeEd MoAr DiVeRsItY & iNcLuSiOn" advocate as my girlfriend often is, but we both love funny books, crispy bacon, straight bourbon and hip hop. Add yet, we never vote the same, so we cancel each other out... and that works perfectly in my book!
