The citizens of the Marvel Universe are already beginning to embrace Doctor Doom as their new benevolent dictator.
Over the past six months, Doctor Doom has remained hidden behind a shroud of mystical energy that he placed over his home country and kingdom of Latveria. Now, with the release of One World Under Doom #1, the time has finally come for the titular villain to reveal his vision for the future of Earth. After announcing himself the planet's new benevolent overlord and giving two strict orders to the rest of the world's leaders, Doom leaps into action to prove just how serious he is. And, while it isn't surprising that there are some who have cheered on Doom's mission, it is still shocking just how many have already decided that he is the answer to all their problems.

One World Under Doom comes as the culmination of months of meticulous planning and plotting by the Latverian dictator. From as far back as the events of Marvel's Blood Hunt, Doom has been working his way into a position from which he could successfully launch his global takeover. A major part of that plot involved finally claiming the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme of Earth for himself, which he was only able to accomplish thanks to Doctor Strange having already been felled during the ancient vampire Varnae's own attempt at taking over the world.
The events of One World Under Doom are set to take center stage throughout the pages of numerous Marvel Comics titles, including Fantastic Four, Storm, and X-Force. Things will continue ramping up throughout the pages of the One World Under Doom limited series, with writer Ryan North previously noting that "Things really kick off in One World Under Doom #2... Doom is consolidating his power, and of course, the only thing that's really standing between him and his ambitions is The Fantastic Four. So, Doom simply solves that problem."

North has also explained just what draws him to Doom as a character, largely for the scope of Doom's presence in the Marvel Universe, not to mention the Latverian dictator's relentless pursuit of his goals. "Doom, to me, is the ultimate villain," North said, "Because even when he loses he wins. He's not some guy you can punch a bunch until he stops doing crimes: he's a man who has thought deeply about how to achieve precisely what he wants, and how to ensure others are manipulated into supporting him."
