The Marvel Universe just lost one of its most infamous villains, and his exit is paving the way for a whole new kind of Doctor Doom.

After doing everything he can to bring his beloved Valeria back from the untimely death she suffered, Doctor Doom finally reaches an agreement with none less than the Living Tribunal. As seen in the pages of One World Under Doom #9 (by Ryan North, R.B. Silva, David Curiel, and VC's Travis Lanham), however, Doom was forced to barter his life, if not his entire existence. Of course, Doom is nothing if not prepared, so much so that he makes sure his final will and testament ends up in the hands of Reed Richards, who is utterly horrified by what he reads upon discovering it.

Over the course of One World Under Doom, readers have seen the Latverian dictator lay claim to the entire world as its self-proclaimed supreme leader and wage war against anyone and everyone who tried to oppose his rule. When Doom used the vast powers he had amassed to try and cement his dominion over the planet as an unmovable moment in time, his goddaughter Valeria Richards was caught in the crossfire. This left Doom heartbroken to the point of desperation, leading to his recent trade with the Living Tribunal, which looks to be leading into one of the most hotly anticipated titles of 2026.

During New York Comic Con back in October, fans got their first look at a new limited series by writers Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Benjamin Percy and artists Carlos Magno, Robert Gill, Justin Mason, and Georges Jeanty — Dungeons of Doom. This new series will carry with it some major implications for the future of the Marvel Universe, which are quickly becoming more and more clear now that the events of One World Under Doom have come to a close.
