Afrer nearly a year of having Doctor Doom in control of the Marvel Universe, we are already starting to see the cracks form in Doctor Doom's control of the world, and that is only going to be more evident when One World Under Doom finally comes to its dramatic conclusion next month. Ahead of the finale, though, Marvel is already preparing its next step, as Doom's defeat will create a vaccuum that will be addressed in the new miniseries, Dungeons of Doom.
Star writers Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Benjamin Percy will be tackling the series, which will show characters from throughout the various aspects of the Marvel Universe try to take advantage of Doom's absence by plundering Doom's dungeons, but that, of course, will lead to surprising twists and turns for anyone who dares step forth into Doom's domain. The miniseries will be drawn by Carlos Magno, Robert Gill, Justin Mason, and Georges Jeanty.

What does Phillip Kennedy Johnson have to say about the new series?
In a press release for Marvel announcing the series, Phillip Kennedy Johnnson noted, "Ben Percy is a kindred spirit, and we both love horror books. Without spoiling the events that lead up to this series, there’s going to be a big conflict in Latveria, and all these factions end up in a place they didn’t ever know that was there. It gives us a set up for a horror anthology in the Marvel Universe, where we’ll see various factions of the Marvel Universe opening these doors and finding these horrors that Doom has been keeping hidden.”
This miniseries will also be paired with the new arc in Chip Zdarsky's Captain America series, which will move the action from the early days of Captain America's time out of the ice, and into the present day, where Captain America will represent the United States among a group of international superpowers who all come into Latveria to split up control of the series in the wake of Doom's defeat. While the governments are in control in public, though, the dungeons are being accessed underground.
Dungeons of Doom #1 is set to be released on January 14th.
