Everyone's favorite Wall-Crawler is still fighting the good fight in the Age of Revelation, even if he's a whole different breed of Spider-Man because of it.
Radioactive Spider-Man #1 (by Joe Kelly, Kev Walker, Chris Sotomayor, and VC's Joe Caramagna) from Marvel Comics drops readers into the middle of New York City, where the populace come under attack from a fiery mutant who has no intention of giving in to Revelation's call. Unsurprisingly, it isn't long before Revelation's superpowered police force shows up to violently put an end to the attack. Thankfully for everyone involved, there is still a Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man in town who is willing to try and settle things with less lethal effect no matter how much the Age of Revelation has changed him.

The official solicit synopsis for Radioactive Spider-Man #1 from Marvel Comics reads, "Unfriendly and unstable! X years later, the X-Virus decimated New York — but Spider-Man won't stop fighting. In a desperate gamble, Peter Parker doses himself with lethal radiation to hold the infection at bay. Survival comes at a cost. While this may not kill Peter Parker, it sure messes him up. This is the most dangerous, mutated Spider-Man ever — and he's not alone."
Marvel Comics' Age of Revelation event brings readers a full decade into the future of the Marvel Universe to witness how the world has changed since the rise of Revelation. Formerly Douglas Ramsey, better known as Cypher, the once beloved mutant hero was one of several chosen by Apocalypse to compete for the right to carry his legacy on into the future. After Cypher was found worthy, Apocalypse put him through a transformative process that saw the formerly meek mutant into a hulking powerhouse capable of twisting the minds and wills of almost everyone who hears his call, which is only spread further through his army of Choristers.
Back in September, Executive Editor and Conductor of X for Marvel Comics Tom Brevoort confirmed that, no matter how alien it might seem, the world of the Age of Revelation is indeed that of the primary Marvel Universe, setting up years of storytelling ahead. "Going into January and beyond, we're kind of in the shadow of tomorrow, where the events going forward will all kind of live in the umbra of these events that we have just witnessed. We've just seen things that have happened to all these characters 10 years down the line." Brevoort added, "As far as we're approaching this, these are all legitimate futures. This isn't a What If world. These things exist, as far as even the present-day characters are concerned. So, you'll see a certain amount of reflectivity in what happens."
Radioactive Spider-Man #1 goes on sale October 22 from Marvel Comics.
