Big things are coming to the pages of Marvel Comics in 2026, and every single one of them already looks like it will be worth the hype.
During New York Comic Con this past weekend, Marvel Comics gave fans a sneak peek at some of the biggest comic book titles and events set to arrive in 2026. On top of new series such as Godzilla: Infinity Roar and Sorcerer Supreme, fans can look forward to some truly massive events, including the end of the Ultimate Universe as it stands today, and those are just the beginning...
Godzilla: Infinity Roar
Godzilla: Infinity Roar is set to pick up in the wake of the currently ongoing Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe, which has seen the titular kaiju tear his way through nearly every hero who dared to stand in his way.
Written by Gerry Duggan and illustrated by Javier Garrón and Ig Guara, the five-issue Godzilla Infinity Roar will see Godzilla take to the cosmos before eventually joining forces with none other than the original King in Black, Knull, as teased all the way back in Godzilla Vs. Spider-Man #1.
"Most movie stars are a giant pain in the ass, but not Godzilla, who has been a privilege and a joy to collaborate with, and the fun will continue in outer space," writer Gerry Duggan said of the series. "And I can say the ideas that are in the mix now are going to make this the biggest, craziest and most dangerous Godzilla crossover ever. The Marvel Universe has never been in more peril! See you in space."
Spider-Man/Venom: Death Spiral (and) Queen in Black
Written by Joe Kelly, Al Ewing, and Charles Soule with art by Jesús Saíz, Amazing Spider-Man: Death Spiral is a new one-shot set to kick off the events of the upcoming Spider-Man/Venom: Death Spiral crossover.
Due to hit comic book store shelves in February, Amazing Spider-Man: Death Spiral will mark the culmination of The Amazing Spider-Man, Venom, and Eddie Brock: Carnage with the emergence of a particularly unsettling mystery. As noted by the official solicit synopsis for Amazing Spider-Man: Death Spiral from Marvel Comics, "A new super powered serial killer is on the loose and they’re coming for Spidey, Venom and everyone in between. But what terrible secret has CARNAGE learned and what does it have to do with Spider-Man?!"
Amazing Spider-Man: Death Spiral wasn't the only new symbiote-centric title revealed during NYCC, as fans also got a teaser image of the upcoming Queen in Black event. Slated to begin next summer, Queen in Black will obviously follow in the footsteps of King in Black, at least to some extent. Presumably, Hela, the Asgardian Goddess of Death, will be taking over Knull and Eddie Brock's former mantle, though how that will come to pass, or what she does with that power once she claims it, is anyone's guess as of now.
X-Men: Shadows of Tomorrow
X-Men: Shadows of Tomorrow will mark the next era of X-Men storytelling as the mutants of the Marvel Universe are left reeling from the events of The Age of Revelation. The Shadows of Tomorrow event will kick off in January.
Three returning titles, X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, and Wolverine, all before spinning out into the pages of three new limited and four new ongoing titles throughout the rest of the month and into February. Among the upcoming limited series are Rogue by writer Erica Schultz and artist Luigi Zagaria, Magik & Colossus by writer Ashley Allen and artist German Peralta, and Cyclops by writer Alex Paknadel and artist Roge Antonio.
The new ongoing X-titles for 2026 include Inglorious X-Force by writer Tim Seeley and artist Michael Sta. Maria, which will see Cable form a brand-new team replete with fan favorite mutant heroes. Next up is Wade Wilson: Deadpool by writer Benjamin Percy and artist Geoff Shaw, which will offer a darker Deadpool story than what fans are used to seeing from the Merc With a Mouth. Generation X-23 by writer Jody Houser and artist Jacopo Camigni will see Laura and Gabby Kinney team up to tackle a mystery that runs all the way back to their origins, while Storm: Earth's Mightiest Mutant by writer Murewa Ayodele and artist Federica Mancin pits its titular hero against a whole host of emerging threats.
Dungeons of Doom
Following the events of One World Under Doom, Marvel Comics' most dreaded dictator will be knocked from his throne and into a new limited series, Dungeons of Doom, by writers Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Benjamin Percy and an all-star art team including Carlos Magno, Robert Gill, Justin Mason, and Georges Jeanty.
The official solicit synopsis for Dungeons of Doom #1 from Marvel Comics reads, "In the aftermath of ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM, with Doom’s castle empty and masterless, the superpowers of the world race to claim and control the untold power and technology that await inside. But when an explosion sends them all plummeting into a dungeon labyrinth that none of them knew was there, what began as an arms race becomes a terrifying game of survival. Who, if any, will survive? And what horrors lie within the DUNGEONS OF DOOM?"
The End of the Ultimate Universe
For two years, the Ultimate Universe has captivated readers with its bold new takes on classic Marvel Comics characters and concepts. Now, the Ultimate Universe is quickly approaching its end, though there is nothing that says it will be an abrupt finish. While readers were only treated to teasers from a handful of titles during NYCC, the final issues of each ongoing Ultimate title were confirmed.
While Ultimate Spider-Man by writer Jonathan Hickman and artist Marco Checchetto will close out in December, the rest of the Ultimate Universe finales will begin in January with the release of Ultimate Endgame #2 by writer Deniz Camp and artists Terry Dodson and Jonas Scharf. The official solicit synopsis for Ultimate Endgame #2 from Marvel Comics reads, "The heroes of the Ultimate Universe – including Spider-Man, America Chavez, Killmonger and Doom – desperately search for a way to stop the Maker. Plus, Iron Lad makes a stunning and heartbreaking discovery that could change the fate of the entire Ultimate Universe forever. Don’t miss this pivotal chapter that will leave you reeling!"
In January, Ultimate Black Panther #24 by writer Bryan Hill and artist Stefano Caselli will close out T'Challa's story with an epic confrontation against the seemingly unstoppable Progenitors. The following month, the 24th and final issue of Peach Momoko's hit Ultimate X-Men will arrive in stores, marking the end of one of the Ultimate Universe's most mind-bending sagas. April will see two more Ultimate titles reach their conclusions with the release of both Ultimate Wolverine #16 by writer Chris Condon and artist Domenico Carbone and The Ultimates #24 by writer Deniz Camp and artist Juan Frigeri.
Deniz Camp, who largely served as the architect of the Ultimate Universe following the exit of original writer Jonathan Hickman, said of the end of the epic tale of Earth-6160, "It's hard to talk about it without getting emotional. It really is the culmination of everything Jonathan began. Everything from my book and everyone else's book are all converging. It's gonna be definitive, it's going to be big. It's going to be emotional, there's going to be death... It's just wild."
Head of Marvel Comics and Franchise Dan Buckley added, "You'll be able to take this journey—the beginning, middle, and end—and digest it for years to come and pass it on to others."
Sorcerer Supreme
Two new titles of particular note were teased by Marvel Comics at NYCC this past weekend, one of which is the upcoming Sorcerer Supreme ongoing series. While little is known about exactly who is behind the creative team of Sorcerer Supreme, the cover art previewed at NYCC seemingly confirms numerous Marvel mainstays, including Carol Danvers, Gambit, Wanda Maximoff, Storm, and Nico Minoru, all vying for the eponymous mantle.
The official solicit synopsis for Sorcerer Supreme from Marvel Comics reads, "The Sorcerer Supreme is dead. Long live the Sorcerer Supreme. In the aftermath of One World Under Doom, a new power rises. One willing to defy tradition, break every rule and chart a bold, new path. Will this rogue Sorcerer Supreme bring magic in the Marvel Universe to new heights or leave it in ruin?"
Star Wars: Jar Jar
The final exceptionally surprising title being released by Marvel Comics in 2026 is Star Wars: Jar Jar. Written by Marc Guggenheim, Ahmed Best, and Kieran McKeown, Star Wars: Jar Jar will see the titular character face "the consequences of giving emergency powers to Chancellor Palpatine."
As continued by the official solicit synopsis for Star Wars: Jar Jar from Marvel Comics, "What pivotal role does Jar Jar play in the formation of the Rebel Alliance?" Star Wars: Jar Jar will also feature an appearance from Jedi Knight Kelleran Beq, the fan-favorite character portrayed by original Jar Jar Binks actor Ahmed Best in multiple franchise entries ranging from Jedi Knights to Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge to The Mandalorian.
