Exclusive Preview: Archie Comics’ World Of Archie Jumbo Comics Digest #150

3 days ago 6

Kardak The Mystic has recently seen a major revival in the main Archie Comics continuity. Originally part of the Gold Key continuity, Kardak got his own one-shot in 2024. He’s been appearing more and more frequently in the mainline Archie continuity since then. He’s front and center in World Of Archie Jumbo Comics Digest #149, where he celebrates his 150th show by blipping musician Tara Swift into Pop’s. In Star Struck, Tara thinks this is all a dream and is thus happy to perform for and with the gang, but when she suddenly disappears Kardak is in a world of hurt. Can he get her back, or has he caused an incomparable void in the music industry?

“Archie digests are an amazing way to keep our family of fans engaged in comic books; they’re sold at supermarket checkouts and newsstands, all driving people back into comic stores and bookstores, and they have incredible longevity. Celebrating this WORLD OF ARCHIE milestone with cool new stories and a great cover homage to an iconic image makes it all the more fun for Archie collectors,” Mike Pellerito, Archie Comics Editor-in-Chief. The cover the issue is a homage to is shown right below.

You can enjoy a three-page preview for Star Struck below, along with a full classic Archie story The Magic is Gone. The Magic is Gone sees the gang being pressed into service when Veronica’s family friend the Illustrious Salustri loses his magical cane.
