The Beat is excited to exclusively reveal preview pages from Titan Manga‘s Dopeman, Vol. 3!
The dystopian seinen manga series, Dopeman, written by Ryo Yoshigami (Psycho Pass) and illustrated by Yuhey Ogino (Aku no Higan: Beyond Evil), is set in an alternative universe transformed by the supernatural and the legalization of a fictional narcotic, Icarus. For those who fly too close to the sun (ahem) and overly indulge in Icarus, the narcotic sometimes awakens in them superhuman abilities that are a reflection of their true desires, and they are nicknamed “Dopemen.” With the narcotic being legal and addicts being protected under the government’s “five drug laws,” a wave of paranormally-powered supervillains is unleashed onto the streets of Japan. To respond to the crisis, Japan’s Narcotics Control Bureau established a special investigative unit, the “D Unit,” tasked with hunting down and apprehending the “Dopemen.”

It’s a story of how we, as a society, treat those who are in need of our help, like addicts, as villains rather than as people who are hurting. The series’s two protagonists, Tojima and Matrix, are often at odds with each other about what the government should do to address the “Dopemen” problem, with the former thinking they should be killed and the latter thinking they should be rehabilitated.
Dopeman was originally serialized in Kurage Bunch, published by Shinchosha. The series was first released digitally in English by Comikey and ran from November 20, 2022, to its conclusion on October 18, 2023. As of March 18, 2025, the first volume of Dopeman was made available in print for the first time through Titan Manga, an imprint of Titan Comics.
Titan Manga’s third and final volume will be released on November 11, 2025, and will arrive at bookstores near you. It is priced at $12.99.

Dopeman Volume 3 delivers an explosive finale to the gritty, action-packed trilogy. In a dystopian Japan where the legalization of all drugs has unleashed a wave of chaos, the D-Unit—our team of battle-hardened heroes—prepares for their ultimate showdown against the Dopemen, super-powered villains whose abilities are fueled by drug abuse.
As the stakes reach their peak, the D-Unit arms themselves to the teeth, ready to face off against an array of monstrous foes. Among them are a machine-gun-wielding duo, a colossal four-armed brute, and a terrifying masked figure wielding a deadly sword. The tension escalates as these villains wreak havoc across the city, leading to intense battles in dark car parks, high-speed car chases, and even dramatic takedowns of aircraft.
This volume is a must-read for fans of Ryo Yoshigami’s dark dystopias, such as Psycho-Pass, and those who crave intense, no-holds-barred action. Yuhei Ogino’s stunning artwork brings these epic confrontations to life, capturing the raw energy and devastation of each fight.
