McFarlane Toys has revealed a first look at its upcoming DC Multiverse Superman vs. Mongul (Return of Superman) Action Figure 2-Pack set. Inspired by the classic 1993 'Return of Superman' comic book storyline, the set recreates the powerful confrontation between Superman and the brutal alien warlord Mongul.
The figures draw inspiration from the aftermath of 'The Death of Superman' storyline, when the Man of Steel returned to protect Earth from a devastating new threat. Mongul arrived alongside the treacherous Cyborg Superman and began transforming the destroyed remains of Coast City into a massive mechanized stronghold as part of a plan to turn Earth into a new Warworld.
At the center of the storyline was a fierce battle between Superman and Mongul, whose immense strength and ruthless ambition made him a formidable opponent for the Man of Steel. Their clash became one of the defining moments of 'Return of Superman', highlighting Superman's determination to stop Mongul's conquest and defend Earth from falling under the control of the Warworld tyrant.
The new DC Multiverse 2-Pack captures that iconic showdown with detailed sculpts and articulation reflecting the characters' comic book appearances. The DC Multiverse Superman vs. Mongul (Return of Superman) Action Figure 2-Pack set is scheduled to launch for pre-order on March 19th at select retailers.
