FX and Hulu are bringing San Diego Comic-Con attendees some sweet nightmares this year. In celebration of FX’s American Horror Story‘s upcoming 13th season (a very big number for horror fans!), they’re rolling into the convention with ice cream trucks to serve up “sinister sweets” inspired by each chapter of the anthology series from Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.
Also announced today, the new season will be premiering on Thursday, September 24 at 9am ET / 6pm PT on FX and Hulu.
Fans will be able to sample “13 Flavors” from four ice cream trucks, where they’ll also be greeted by some of the series’ most iconic characters from the last 13 installments, including Rubber Man (“Murder House”), Twisty the Clown (“Freak Show”), and the Witch (“Coven”).
But you’ll only find 12 flavors at the truck, as in order to experience the elusive 13th scoop, fans will be invited to a secret location on Saturday, July 25. Be sure to stay tuned to American Horror Story on social media for details on locations, timing, and other information.
The upcoming 13th installment, “American Horror Story: 13”, builds on the series’ decades-long legacy, bringing back fan-favorite characters from one of the show’s most iconic seasons, Coven. The new season sees the return of Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Leslie Grossman, and Jessica Lange, as well as new additions for Ariana Grande and John Waters.
American Horror Story will also be featured on the Hilton Bayfront for this year’s wrap.
It’s a bit unclear if the trucks will be stationary or roaming the Gaslamp, but stay tuned to their socials to hopefully learn more.
