King Kong will have to sit this one out. While fans of Kong and his acclaimed film, and Netflix series, Skull Island enjoy the recent news of a brand-new comic book storyline for one-half of the MonsterVerse kingdom, this time, it's Godzilla getting his due, and in spectacular fashion — a massive assist from Marvel taking it to another level.
Beginning in February 2026, fans of the king kaiju will be treated to a five-part crossover book series — Godzilla: Infinity Roar — from Marvel Comics in conjunction with Toho International. The series was announced at New York Comic Con in November, from the creative hands of Gerry Duggan (writer), Javier Garrón (artist) and Ig Guara (artist), and one look at the new cosmic variant covers gives a huge, Godzilla-sized hint at exactly how epic things are about to get in the MonsterVerse.

In Godzilla: Infinity Roar, Godzilla is faced with looking for redemption after Marvel's superheroes took him down in Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe, and forced him to another planet. That's when the King of the Monsters finds himself awakened by the King in Black, the god of the symbiotes, Knull, and all hell breaks loose from there.
Marvel vs. the MonsterVerse
Image via Warner Bros.In an attempt to take down the two rage-filled titans, Marvel superheroes join forces with those from the MonsterVerse in several head-to-head clashes that will shake the very fabric of the cosmos, in battles that will determine the fate of more than just the planet they're going to war on — the following being a list of the clashes you'll need to strap yourself in to behold.
- Captain Marvel Vs. Mothra
- Galactus Vs. King Ghidorah
- Cosmic Ghost Rider Vs. Destroyah
- Thanos Vs. Rodan
- Phoenix Vs. Mechagodzilla
And, just so you know, the good guys may not come out on top this time.
"Well, the Marvel heroes tried to handle the problem ethically, but they only made the crisis worse by exiling Godzilla in space for a bad actor like Knull to take advantage of. This mini will really surprise people — it’s not going to end how you think it will." - Gerry Duggan via ComicBook.com
Knull is surgical in how he plans to use Godzilla's rage to execute his own plan of decimating all life in the universe. And, by now, you've probably considered the fact the god of symbiotes might have one ready to force Godzilla into some transformations that could not only blow your mind, but be formidable enough to make even the most powerful Marvel superheroes wish they chose another occupation. It all begins in February, and no fan of the MonsterVerse is gonna wanna miss it.
