Highlander Is A Cult Classic Fantasy Francise
Image via Warner Brothers1986's Highlander was directed by Russell Mulcahy from a screenplay by Widen, Peter Bellwood, and Larry Ferguson. The film introduced the world to Connor MacLeod, portrayed by Christopher Lambert, an immortal warrior who wanders the Earth battling others of his kind, those who can only be killed by beheading, and who are capable of absorbing the power of their felled foes.
Although Highlander was far from a critical darling, or even a financial success upon its release, the film kicked off a massively popular franchise that has come to include five live-action feature films, one animated feature film, and three separate television series, not to mention various web series, novels, comics, and the upcoming reboot film starring none other than Henry Cavill and Dave Bautista.
Highlander: The Original Screenplay from Titan Comics arrives in comic book stores everywhere on November 17.
