The official solicit synopsis for Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories: The Bad Batch — Rogue Agents #1 from Dark Horse Comics reads, "The Bad Batch is back! When a Separatist scientist and his dangerous invention go missing during the Clone Wars, Clone Force 99 is sent to track him down and prevent the device from falling into the wrong hands."

"But when Hunter, Wrecker, Crosshair, and Tech arrive at the scientist’s abandoned laboratory, they quickly realize that they aren’t the only ones on his trail... and that this mission will be different than any that they’ve faced before!"

Introduced during the seventh and final season of the fan-favorite Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, the team of elite Clone Troopers of Clone Force 99, better known as the Bad Batch, consists of a group of clones who all have unique genetic mutations that make them suited to individual specialties. Among its members are Clone Sergeant Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, and Crosshair, whose monikers tell fans just about everything they need to know about these particular clones.

After making a handful of appearances in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the members of Clone Force 99 took center stage in their very own Star Wars: The Bad Batch animated series. Star Wars: The Bad Batch ran for three seasons from 2021 to 2024, and amassed 47 episodes in that time.

Over the course of its run on television, Star Wars: The Bad Batch drew largely rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. As of the time of writing, the series holds an 88% "Fresh" rating via review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, as averaged across 56 verified critical reviews. The Bad Batch also holds an 84% audience-generated "Popcornmeter" score.

In February, the Bad Batch made their hotly anticipated comic book comeback in the pages of Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories: The Bad Batch — Ghost Agents. Written by Michael Moreci and fleshed out by artists Reese Hannigan, Elisabetta D'Amico, and Michael Atiyeh, Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories: The Bad Batch — Ghost Agents gave fans a chance to catch up with their favorite Clone Troopers nearly a year after their TV run came to an end.

Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories: The Bad Batch — Rogue Agents #1 from Dark Horse Comics is set to arrive in comic book stores everywhere on December 31.
