Recently, Ryan North wrote a delightful one-shot called Marvel All-On-One, a play on the old team-up series that used to star the Thing (Marvel All-in-One), where the Thing effectively had to fight the entire Marvel universe of superheroes and villains all at once.
Well, presumably North has not had enough when it comes to a character fighting EVERYONE, as he is now launching a brand-new miniseries called Hulk Smash Everything, where Hulk takes on, well, you know, EVERYONE. CBR has an exclusive preview of the first issue (by North, artist Vincenzo Carratù, colorist Federico Blee, and letterer Joe Caramagna), which shows the Jade Giant taking on one of the biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe superheroes, Doctor Strange, in a brutal attack.

Is Hulk really the strongest there is? Sure, he’s stronger than most PEOPLE…but is he really stronger than EVERYTHING? Dinosaurs? Planets? Gravity? Cosmic forces? Find out here, because when we say Hulk takes on all comers in this new miniseries, we really mean it! It’s nonstop action in the classic mighty Marvel manner from Ryan North (ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM, SQUIRREL GIRL) and Vincenzo Carratù (PSYLOCKE, ASTONISHING ICEMAN)!
32 PGS./Rated T+ …$4.99
In the preview pages, Stephen Strange is at his Sanctum Sanctorum, just studying some ancient magical books when he suddenly hears a shout from his associate, Wong. Strange goes to tell him to relax a bit when he realizes that the Sanctum Sanctorum is actually under a vicious attack by the Hulk, of all people.
Strange and Hulk have long been friends, and had been longtime members of the Defenders together, so it is obviously a surprise to see the Hulk trying to destroy his home. Vincenzo Carratù does a really nice double-page splash of the Hulk attacking "Strange Doctor."
Strange tries to figure out why he is attacking, but Wong has no answers to give. Strange and Wong combine their abilities to slow the Hulk down, but then, in another striking splash page by Carratù, we see that they might have temporarily slowed the Hulk down, but it doesn't seem like that is going to be a good thing for them in the long term.
It is noteworthy to recall that when the Hulk became a mindless destructive force back in Incredible Hulk #300, the only way that the superheroes of Earth were able to stop him at that time was for Doctor Strange to send him to another dimension, and it is possible that the Hulk is trying to take Doctor Strange off the board early. Why? Well, that would be the purpose of the miniseries, right? So if you want to see what happens after this initial attack on Doctor Strange, you'll need to pick up a copy of Hulk Smash Everything #1 next week!
