It's The Final Chapter of This Spawn Saga, And We Have the Exclusive Look

Since launching in 2021, the Spawn Universe has become a major force in the comic book industry, and the spinoff titles King Spawn, Gunslinger Spawn, and The Scorched have become constant presences on comic book racks. The Spawn Universe has been celebrating the 50th issue of these series with the 50/50/50 Program, and CBR has an exclusive reveal of three of the covers for the final book in the 50/50/50 Program, The Scorched #50!

Below, we will show the exclusive first looks at Puppeteer Lee's cover for Scorched #50 (which is part of a connecting series of covers with King Spawn #50 and Gunslinger Spawn #50), Skottie Young's cover (which is ALSO part of a connectiong series of covers of King Spawn #50 and Gunslinger Spawn #50) and Mark Spears 1:50 variant cover (meaning that comic book stores have to order 50 copies of The Scorched #50 to be able to order a single copy of The Scorched #50 with Spears' variant cover on it).

What is the solicitation for The Scorched #50?

In the press release for the finale of the 50/50/50 program, Todd McFarlane Productions reveals the story for The Scorched #50:

The Scorched #50 is an extra-length issue delivering the final two chapters of the crossover that began in King Spawn #50 and continued in Gunslinger Spawn #50.The battle rages to its breaking point, and the long-awaited reveal will have Spawn fans talking for years to come. When the dust settles, The Scorched #50 will leave the Spawn Universe forever changed. As with the previous issue #50 titles, interior artwork is by Carlo Barberi and Stephen Segovia, ensuring visual consistency across all three milestone books.

The company also revealed the list of covers for the issue, of which CBR is exclusively revealing the Lee and Young covers (above) and the Spears cover (below)

Fifty orders will include sketches by Todd McFarlane. Once 50 orders are placed, all remaining sketches will be randomly provided by Spawn Universe artists: Jonathan Glapion, Carlo Barberi, Brett Booth, Stephen Segovia, and Jason Shawn Alexander. Sketch artist selection is random and cannot be requested. Ordering early does not guarantee a McFarlane sketch. (McFarlane will not sign this cover again)

What does Todd McFarlane have to say about the end of the 50/50/50 Program?

In a press release with the release of the covers, Todd McFarlane noted, added: "This anniversary issue finishes up the story running through both King Spawn #50 and Gunslinger Spawn #50 and will upgrade and introduce us to a new Hellspawn villain. This story will involve one of the MAIN characters in the Spawn Universe mythology as the Rogue's gallery of Spawn's enemies continues to grow."

McFarlane added, "This also marks the final installment of my Sketch incentives and the 1:1000 rare books also shipping with those sketches. The retailer incentive program has started off with a bang as KING SPAWN #50 increased its orders by 1,100%, so we are hoping that this is another issue that will continue the excitement that began a few months back and is running through all our 50/50/50 issues."

The Scorched #50 is set to be released in March 2026
