AnimEigo and MediaOCD recently announced the release of Looking for the Full Moon Vol. 2 (Full Moon wo Sagashite), which will arrive in stores and online on November 11, 2025. This marks the complete home release of the early 2000s classic shojo cancer idol series with full English dubs. VIZ Media previously released part of the anime on DVD in 2006 and 2007.
Based on the bestselling shojo manga series created by Arina Tanemura, Looking for the Full Moon follows a 12-year-old girl as she pursues her dream to become a pop singer despite being diagnosed with terminal cancer. One day, two “death gods” appear and inform her she only has one year to live. So, in order to make her dream come true, they’ll transform her into a real idol singer. The beloved manga series was serialized in the shojo magazine Ribon from 2002 to 2004.

The 52-episode anime TV series was directed by Toshiyuki Kato (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run and Captain Tsubasa) at Studio DEEN.
AnimEigo revealed the discovery of the previously unreleased English dub in a Bluesky post and added in a blog post, “We are delighted to announce that the lost dubs to the ENTIRE series, including the never-before-released eps 28-52, HAVE BEEN FOUND!!! They will be making their debut on Volume 2 for the very first time!”
