Elmer Fuddshushes his audience in order to shoot a rabbit (
Bugs Bunny). This story adapts the cartoon of the same name, which introduced both characters to movie audiences. In a separate tale,
Porky Pighires a dim-witted fellow to watch over his chickens. This first issue marks the first appearances in comics of several classic cartoons, including
Daffy Duck(appearing in 3 panels of a second Bugs Bunny tale),
Petunia Pig(text story illustrations) and
Mary Jane and Snifflesthe mouse. Some stories and art are credited to Win Smith and Chase Craig.
