Crunchyroll, in collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment, is bringing Mamoru Hosoda’s The Boy and The Beast back to the big screen for a special one-day-only event. The critically acclaimed film will screen in select U.S. theaters on August 18, presented in its original Japanese audio with English subtitles.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Mamoru Hosoda (Summer Wars, Wolf Children, Belle), The Boy and The Beast is a heartwarming coming-of-age story set in a visually stunning fantasy world. The film follows Kyuta, a lonely orphan from Shibuya who stumbles into the realm of beasts and is reluctantly taken in by Kumatetsu, a powerful but rough-edged warrior in search of a disciple.
