One of the most notable new supervillains introduced in the Marvel Universe in the 21st Century has got to be Knull, the King in Black, the so-called "God of Symbiotes," who has become an integral part of the Marvel symbiote landscape, which has become a much larger part of the Marvel Universe as a whole over the years.
Knull is returning to Marvel in a big way in 2026, along with Hela trying to take over his role in the Marvel Universe as the Queen in Black. However, Hela is not the only Marvel death icon that Knull has to deal with, as Marvel is allowing CBR to exclusively reveal the solicitation and the cover for Knull #3, out in March 2026, featuring Knull facing off against Thanos!
Who is Knull's new comic book series about?
The concept for the new Knull series (by writers Al Ewing and Tom Waltz, with this being Waltz's first Marvel series after a long and acclaimed career at IDW, where he helped reboot the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and artist Juanan Ramírez ) is that Knull is being held captive by Hela, as she plans to take his place as the new Queen in Black. However, he is able to escape in the first issue.
Knull knows that there is a weapon from his past that he can use to challenge Hela for his title as the King in Black, so he heads off on a journey to look for the weapon. And wouldn't you just know Knull's luck would just so happen to lead to Thanos looking for the same weapon!

On Sale 3/25
The return of Knull is just in time for a new crossover event, Death Spiral, that will tie Spider-Man, Venom, and Carnage together. This will be the first time that Spider-Man will learn that Mary Jane Watson is now the host of the Venom symbiote (and that they cannot separate or it will kill her).
She had previously revealed her identity to who she THOUGHT was Peter, but it was actually Ben Reilly disguising himself as Peter, choosing to use Peter being off-world as a chance for Ben to, in effect, steal Peter's life, and get the life that Ben thinks that he deserves.
The Death Spiral crossover, and the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man #1000, will likely involve the return of Knull in some capacity, as Spider-Man's world is now fully intertwined with Venom's due to Mary Jane's new role as Venom.
