The following contains major spoilers for Captain America #11, on sale now from Marvel Comics.

Captain America just confirmed which Hulk is stronger than the original in Marvel Comics, and the answer is more painful than expected.

As the fight for the future of Latveria and all the secrets it holds rages on the pages of Captain America #11 (by Chip Zdarsky, Valerio Schiti, Romulo Fajardo Jr., and VC's Joe Caramagna), the titular hero finds himself staring down not just an army of Hulks, but the Red Hulk himself. Worse still, the Red Hulk doesn't seem to have any intention of letting a young clone of Doctor Doom escape his grasp, even if he has to unleash all of his strength upon Captain America.

Steve puts aside his mission to protect Victor Von Doom’s ultimate weapon from both the U.S. and Latveria, which puts him on a dangerous collision course with Red Hulk’s ALL-NEW, ALL-HULK strike team! But there are some wars not even Captain America can win... Witness the spark that starts the fire of ARMAGEDDON in this can’t-miss issue!"

As noted by Captain America following the Red Hulk's assault, this is the hardest hit that the Star-Spangled Avenger has ever taken. Considering Captain America has gone toe-to-toe with the likes of the original Hulk, it is utterly horrifying that the Red Hulk can unleash such a beating, and it only gets scarier as the battle continues to unfold.

While Captain America and his allies are capable of safely whisking away the young clone of Doctor Doom at the center of this fight, that doesn't mean any of them stand a chance at taking on the Red Hulk directly. In fact, Red Hulk's defeat of Captain America is so crushing that the latter has officially lost his life all over again, only to end up in Hell right alongside Doom himself.

Of course, General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, the man at the heart of the Red Hulk's rampage, has good reason to want to see any and every iteration of Doom crushed underfoot. After the original Doctor Doom laid total claim to the entire world, Ross found himself imprisoned deep beneath the villain's stronghold, where he was tortured and tormented in the hopes of forcing him to serve as part of Doom's personal think tank. When that didn't pan out, Ross led a ragtag team in an assault against doom, after which the Red Hulk attempted to establish his own control over Latveria.
