The Age of Revelation has turned one X-veteran's incredible power into a waking nightmare from which there is no escape.

A preview of X-Men: Book of Revelation #2 (by Jed MacKay, Netho Diaz, Sean Parsons, Livesay, Fer Sifuentes-Sujo, and VC's Clayton Cowles) from Marvel Comics opens to find the young Elbecca Voss, the latest of Revelation's Choristers, falling to her apparent demise after being thrown from a rooftop by the villainous Fabian Cortez. Fortunately, the ghostly voice that Elbecca has been hearing is right there to guide her to safety. As it turns out, this supposed ghost is none other than Kitty Pryde. After refusing Revelation's "gift," she was subjected to live out the rest of her days in a permanently intangible state.

When Katherine "Kitty" Pryde made her comic book debut back in 1979's X-Men #129 by Chris Claremont and John Byrne, she was caught in the middle of a confrontation between the eponymous team of mutant heroes and Emma Frost's Hellfire Club. Although the X-Men themselves were captured by the Hellfire Club, Kitty made quick use of her ability to phase through solid matter and set about rescuing her new teammates in short order. Since then, Kitty has been a key part of numerous X-Men teams and storylines, as well as some truly heartbreaking developments and equally tragic events.

Marvel Comics' ongoing Age of Revelation event was brought about by the eponymous mutant villain, formerly known as Doug Ramsey, aka Cypher. After being chosen to bear the weight of Apocalypse's legacy, Doug was transformed from his once meek self into the hulking Revelation. With the newfound ability to worm his way into the minds of others with his voice and a legion of Choristers to carry it far and wide, Revelation has transformed a world once brimming with hope into one that can only be interpreted as either a veritable mutant utopia or surprisingly lush post-apocalyptic wasteland.

While the Age of Revelation is still unfolding, Marvel fans have already seen what comes after it, and the Shadows of Tomorrow might be even more exciting. Revealed during New York Comic Con, X-Men: Shadows of Tomorrow stands as the first major Marvel Comics event of 2026. Beginning in January in the pages of X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, and Wolverine, Shadows of Tomorrow will quickly spin out into three new limited and four new ongoing titles set to be released through February. Among these are Rogue, Magik & Colossus, Cyclops, Inglorious X-Force, Wade Wilson: Deadpool, Storm: Earth's Mightiest Mutant, and Generation X-23.

X-Men: Book of Revelation #2 goes on sale November 19 from Marvel Comics.
