Marvel shocked the comic book world by having Mary Jane Watson revealed as the all-new Venom. Since then, we've learned HOW she and Venom came to be partnered together, and why she literally HAS to remain connected to the Venom symbiote to survive. Now she is taking on one of Spider-Man's greatest enemies, Doctor Octopus, and it doesn't look good for her, and in this CBR exclusive preview of All-New Venom #9, see how Mary Jane deals with Doctor Octopus' plan to dissect her and the symbiote!
All-New Venom #9 is from writer Al Ewing, artist Carlos Gómez, colorist Frank D'Armata, and letterer Clayton Cowles, and it follows the reveal in recent issues that Doctor Octopus has been released from prison by S.C.A.R. (an anti-symbiote agency) to help them study the symbiotes. Doctor Octopus recently erased all of his memories as the Superior Spider-Man, and now he is obsessed with killing people with secret identities WITHOUT revealing who they are. He defeated Venom at the end of last issue, and now he is going to slice and dice!

Mary Jane Trusts Flash Thompson More Than Her Boyfriend, Paul, in All-New Venom #7
In a CBR review of All-New Venom #7, see how Mary Jane's relationship with Paul hits a skid where she trusts Flash Thompson over him
In the preview pages, Doctor Octopus is about to slice into Mary Jane and Venom (again, he doesn't want to learn who Venom is, he just wants to dissect Venom and its host), after badly damaging them at the end of last issue. However, Mary Jane is able to send one of his saw arms into Octopus' own arms, which stuns him (as his arms are all connected to each other through a mental link that Otto Octavius has with his arms) and allows her to recover a little bit. She is still not at her best, though, but luckily, she has a plan to escape.
The lab that she is being attacked in is in a S.C.A.R. base that is holding a number of symbiotes prisoners, and so Mary Jane frees another symbiote, and we'll see if a symbiote team-up will lead to the tables being turned! Whether that works out or not, you'll have to pick up All-New Venom #9 next week to find out!
