Picking up where the last NYX series left off, Kaiden Nixon is still looking for her parents along with her outcast pals. In this issue, the kids’ mutant abilities get identified by SHIELD as a result of a conflict with a gang member. The kids thus end up running from the law and fighting with a very well-connected gang.
The ghost of Kiden’s father gets involved to to help
The cast of this book have interesting powers, and it melds the supernatural with the super very effectively. It’s a solid book, but has very little connection to the greater X-Verse so I think it ends up being largely forgotten. That’s the downside of Marvel’s increasing reliance on shared continuity as an essential element of its stories.
